I wasn’t sure how the kiddos would like the pool. Last year Eli was hit or miss and Cora was a newborn. Hot Hubby and I LOVE the water so in hopes of getting them hooked, I thought we would just have a picnic in our bathing suits next to the pool and see what happens.
First they just looked in wonder…
Slowly and with the utmost care we put our tootsies in…They got the hang of that quickly!
Cora would become memorized with her reflection
in the water. With her eyes crossed
she would gaze at herself and fall
into the “other” Cora.
Of course Mommy brought snacks…
The pool is bomb-diggity!
While hopping around the blog world, I inevitably come across loads of giveaways. I enter here and there but I’ve never been super into it.
Until I became a winner!!
I won two giveaways in the same week. How did that happen?!?!
Check out more of their giveaways here.
This bracelet is lovely
the clasp is super sturdy and I can even attach it by myself. I love pearl jewelry because it feels vintage and modern at the same time
(I also love the name Pearl for a little girl but Hot Hubby just won’t go for it. Maybe I’ll get it as a middle name in the future!)
giveaway score is from Mommy Daisy
. I have really enjoyed her blog so check it out! I won a new Bob the Builder DVD ‘Race to the Finish.’ It is awesome… and I should know I have now watched it at least 50 times… REALLY!
Eli L-O-V-E-S Bob the Builder.
Now that we are without TV, (not even 2, 4, 7 etc) DVDs are a God-Send!
As most of you know, Eli’s Lids often sponsors giveaways all over blogland… the latest…
Her winning response to why she should win an Eli’s Lid:
The first reason is because they are so darn cute & trendy! The second is because my 20 month old son has an out-of-control, platinum-blond white boy fro on top of his noggin and some days it would be so much easier to just put a lid on it rather than fight the spirally-tangled tresses of a toddler boy. I can send a picture for proof & sympathy!
Amen sister… you deserve the Lid!! Hasta La Pasta Folks!!
That’s right folks! When you wear Eli’s Lids you will instantly be a better rock climber! Class 5 climbs will seem like child’s play!
An added bonus… you will look fabulous as you scale the mountain
Juggernauts will be a thing of the past and rappelling will be a breeze!
During a Tea Party the Pirate and the Cowgirl were discussing Earth Day…Pirate: “Did you know that if you don’t take the lids off plastic water bottles they won’t be recycled?”
Pirate: “Really! The workers don’t have the time to take off the lids so they are just thrown in the trash.”
Cowgirl: “So for all these YEARS I have been ‘recycling’ water bottles and they have been throwing them out!??!?! That makes me want to scream!!!”
Pirate: “That’s right! But if you take off the Lids they can recycle everything!”
We can all learn from the Pirate and the Cowgirl…
Take those lids off your plastic water bottles before throwing them in the recycle bins!
NOTE: All reference to taking off “Lids” in this post does not pertain to Eli’s Lids. Eli’s Lids should remain on at all times (weather pending) to keep kiddos adorable and stylish!
Better yet, use reusable cups and water bottles just like the Eli’s Lids kiddos…
“…more than 1 billion water bottles are winding up in the trash in California each year
. That translates into nearly 3 million empty water bottles going to the trash EVERY day
and an estimated $26 million in unclaimed California Refund Value
(CRV) deposits annually. If recycled, the raw materials from those bottles could be used to make 74 million square feet of carpet, 74 million extra large T-shirts or 16 million sweaters, among other things.”

The kiddos opened their baskets. No candy. Cuz if you know me, candy isn’t a forbidden fruit at our place so they could care less about it!
After church we headed over to the Irvine Spectrum for lunch (FYI Wahoo’s isn’t open Easter
). Cora Jane would have fallen in the fountain
if Daddy hadn’t caught her in time.
After naps we headed on over to my parents’ house for some smoked tri-tip and loads of other homemade delights
. The kiddos only ate candy (moms were off duty
) and played with the cars and in the sandbox…
Some out takes of our annual Jesus is Alive picture..
The kiddos did the egg hunt thing…
In our neck of the woods adults get an egg hunt too
. Why are these lovely ladies brawling for an egg?
Because in the adult hunt the eggs are filled
with candy and/or cash-o-la. One lucky egg has the grand prize…

with it at tomorrows’ Easter festivities!
Happy Easter folks!Sending blessings and joy on the most important holiday of the year!!
Fun, Fast & Easy
My favorite words for a craft!
You’ll need…1. Paint the plastic eggs with Mod Podge so you have a nice sticky base (great for kids to do… messy). Extra points if you get Mod Podge on your face! This coat doesn’t need to dry before starting the next step 2. Cut paper into thin strips (about 1/4″) of different lengths.
3. Dip paper into water
4. Stick paper on egg
5. Paint with Mod Podge (The more the better… in between every layer or overlapping strips)
Takes about 20 minutes to dry…
I used a cake platter to display.
I think it looks better with busy paper patterns.
Using tissue paper is way faster.
I wish I would have use more coordinating papers.
Another Fun, Fast, Easy craft posted after lunch! Going to Rubio’s…. mmmmmmmmm….
