Happy New Year!

We celebrated with our annual New York New Years Eve Party over at Back to Work Dad’s house…

If I look tired it’s because I was. It was only about 8pm but I have the sniffles (something in the OC air?) and my nose was/is draining like a faucet.

The traditional kiddo shot…

A cute thing: Cora Jane is very into My Little Pony (thank you Nannie!!) and Pinky had to be buckled in… (can you tell she put on her Lid by herself?)

Entertainment: Ralph (husband of Brave Little Duck) brought a sword to open the champagne. I know, it was pretty bad a&$! I’ve heard he hires out for weddings…

I also made an appearance at the hottest shin-dig in the blogsphere. Try not to be jealous when you read Marcy’s (The Glamorous Life) party recap – Thanks for coming. You are the life of the party

New Years Resolutions…

There is something about the fresh new date on the calendar that makes people want to change things. I’m not sure why but I feel it too. Though I can’t remember the last time I made a New Years Resolution. I’m the type of person who needs to make resolutions everyday. Broad proclamations like, “I will lose 30lbs this year,” just doesn’t work for me. I have to be specific and renew my resolutions each morning.

Here are some of my personal goals…

1. Lose 1lb (30 times!)

2. Cook more from scratch (everyone who knows me is crying from laughing so hard)

3. Continue to read at least one book a month

4. Schedule at least one playdate a week with people we don’t usually see!

5. Host friends for dinner every other week

6. Fold the laundry (this would be a dream come true for Hot Hubby)

7. Keep being intentionally silly with the kiddos!

Here’s what will be happening here at the Eli’s Lids blog…

1. A new series called The Lazy Aerobic Instructor. I’ll be featuring guest writers and products with tips on how to be healthy as well as my journey to lose the baby weight from Cy… though since he’s 6 months it should be classified as Kara Noel weight!!

2. AMAZING party tips from my friend Kristen who throws the best parties in Orange County. What? You don’t believe me. Just wait… you will!

3. Flashback Lid posts of all the cute Lid pictures I didn’t post last year. (bad me)

4. A Kids in Lids segment featuring the pictures Lid Lovers from all over have sent in. ADORABLE! (Send me pix or post them to our Facebook Wall and you could be featured too!)

Love your post Kara and your family is absolutely beautiful. I like your approach to resolutions as well. Guess I’d better get on mine to lose my baby weight from Hayden if at 6 months it becomes my own weight again….LOL. Happy New Year to you all!

Love your resolutions. Especially having friends over for dinner every other week. In the past this was a monthly tradition in our home. But it aeems sharing a meal with friends deserves an every other week upgrade!

Totally! I kinda feel like if I set the goal for every other week it will end up being ever 3 weeks and that’s fine too!
