Bona Mop Giveaway

Have you noticed I’m re-launching my blog with a new name?
Yes. (You’re thinking… I’m here aren’t I!?!????)
Touche.

Now that you know were we are AND have liked the new FB Page, the LEAST I can do, is offer a week of rad giveaways. Don’t you think?

Let’s start with cleaning.
I know, cleaning isn’t the most glamorous thing in the world. But it’s necessary. AND Small Things, like cleaning, can make a Big difference.

Let me tell you about a product I love…

In case you didn’t want to watch the 1 minute video this is what I talk about: I have a lot of wood floors and I like the Bona Cleaning System. You want to win it and if you don’t then you should buy it!

Bona Cleaning System

A few neat things about Bona (besides that it works really well):

  • It’s used in the Nike Worldwide Headquarters, Westminster Cathedral and countless museums all over the world.
  • Bona has been around since 1919… am I the only one who likes companies who have been around forever?
  • They have all sorts of products but I like the Laminate, Tile and Stone Cleaner because I can use it on all 2,400 square of my home – moving from laminate wood to tiled floors without switching cleaners.

So that being said, now you can win one of the NEW Bona Spray Mops of your own (a $50.00 value!!!). Follow the instructions in the box below…

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Good Luck Friends!

Disclosure, yo: Bona gave me a rad mop for free and will send one winner a mop for free. But all my opinions are my own. And I made that sweet video myself and used my own supplies. What else can I disclose?… um… I never do posts about something I don’t like… ever. Oh and I cuss at my kids. Hope that covers all my bases. Blarg.

We carry a long line of Bona products at the store I work for – LOVE Bona, those Swedes are skilled when it comes to formulating effective, non-toxic, environmentally-friendly products that will maintain your floors for years. I actually don’t own one of the mops yet, but am moving into my own apartment in the next few months and will get the system you highlight above for my floors. Whether you have tile or hardwood, it’s so good, and better than the Swiffer mop because it’s better for the floors.

Question: Thoughts on Swiffering laminate? I already have a Swiffer, and have used it once or twice now. But I’m scared. Is it ok to use on laminate? Seems like the same thing as the Bona to me, except that it doesn’t specifically make something directed at laminate. But they mention cleaning laminate on their website, so it must be safe, right? I don’t want to ruin my floors. But I also don’t want ot buy a new cleaning system if it’s not necessary.

I tell you, nothing beats Clorox wipes! They have taken crud off of my walls that should have had to be painted over. The other thing that really works is to go to Lowes or Home Depot and pick up a good degreaser–these usually come in a nice citrus scent and are VERY effective. Leave it sit for a minute or two after spraying and it removes caked on grime.

My best cleaning tip – I but a strip of cotton that you would use around your face if you were getting a perm. I soak it in bleach and then wrap it around my tub where the caulking is. Let it sit for 10 minutes and then remove and rinse with warm water. Takes the mold right out!

We do a 5 minute pick-up every day when we get home from school/work and it becomes a race of who can pick up the most stuff and put it away. This way the real cleaning is easier because all the pick-up work is already done.

My parents invested in a Roomba and Mint. The Roomba vacuums and the Mint sweeps and mops. My mom loves that things get done even when they aren’t home since both can be programmed. Invite guests over, that’s about the only time my house gets a real good cleaning. Otherwise, I do play music, clean when the kids are not home, and TRY (being the operative word) to stick to a cleaning schedule.

I read in HGTV Magazine that if you have a big house or more than one story, you should store cleaning supplies in multiple locations, so they’re easy to access and you spend less time getting to them! I keep rolls of paper towels in different closets and cupboards for easier cleanup.
