I heart Kettle Corn…

Updated 3/30:
I’m adding this post to Mom’s The Word’s awesome meme called Making your Home Sing Monday. This post highlights 4 things that make our home sing: Our weekly family date night, our love of sillyness, the joy of kettle corn, and of course a family favorite… It’s a Small World!!
Every Monday night we take a trip on down to the Happiest Place on Earth…

UPDATE: If you have awesome blogging friends (like The Jungle Wife) then after reading this post they might leave a comment with a recipe for homemade Kettle Corn!!!
Just in case you are too lazy… I mean busy… to open up the comments here it is…

A recipe for making kettle corn on the stove top but of course its not quite the same:
1/4 cup oil (heat in a pan)
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup popcorn
Cover and shake shake shake while it pops so the sugar doesn’t burn!!! Add salt at the end and let it cool a little because the sugar is HOT! Yummy! Maybe I will have to make some tonight 🙂 Popcorn is our standard Sunday evening dinner. 🙂

Thanks Sarah, I hope you enjoyed your Sunday night popcorn… I know we’ll be trying this soon!!

I love kettle corn!! When I was growing up we ate alot of popcorn for supper – although we weren’t lucky enough to be getting kettle corn, just regular popcorn with butter. It was always fun.

Loved your post…it made me want to make Kettle Corn and head back to OC to visit the mouse house (I can’t believe it has been almost 4 years since we’ve been there…we’re a transplanted so cal family, so we definitely went through withdrawals). Small World has been my favorite ride since I was a little kid and I’m OLD now, so that should tell you something! Thanks for reminding us that singing involves FUN!

What a cute blog/ theme. Kettle corn.. something as easy, fun and cheap as kettle corn makes a home sing. I love it. Why do I make it so complicated???

Anything that we do as homemakers to bring joy or comfort or food or fun or whatever to our homes make them sing! The opportunities are endless. So this post is perfect!

I have to admit I am a bit jealous that you get to go to Disneyland every Monday night. We like to go to Disney World about every four years, as that’s how long it takes to save up.

My hubby loves kettle corn. (BTW, love the hat pictures on your sidebar. So cute!). Thanks for joining us today!

We’re heading down to D-land this Wednesday. The last time I was there, I was 18 and CA Land didn’t exist. My kids have never been, and are SO excited!!

Nice! Thanks for posting the recipe! 🙂 You’ll have to let me know if you make it and how it turns out!

Just want to add one thing – my trick for knowing if the oil is hot enough or not – throw 3 kernels of unpopped popcorn in with the oil (lid on of course!) and when all three pop, fish them out with a spoon, and then dump in the sugar and the rest of the popcorn. That way you know the oil is hot and ready to go! The end 🙂
