Pirate School

Our pirate has been attending Pirate School every night (aka VBS).

He’s learning a lot and inspiring a tee shirt line for the pirate in all of us!

We are also getting more than excited for the Tall Ships Festival in Dana Point September 10-12th at the Ocean Institute. You should come, we’ll hang out!!

pirate school me and cy …I’m probably sitting on our red couch nursing the little leech Cyrus.

Any tips for cradle cap and REALLY dry skin on baby eyebrows?? My friend Ciaran gave me a Bean B Clean brush and it works great for getting off the lose flakes but I want to prevent the dryness…

The dandruff shampoo called Nizoral worked wonders for my little ones…(when they were lil!) Good luck! All of my guys had that at one time or another…

Great tip!! He is getting better now. But still gets flakes in the hairline. I’m most definitely going to use the dandruff shampoo idea. Thank you!!

I have not read the replies. But we used anti-dandruff shampoo on both kids when they had it then took a comb it into the scalp and to comb out the scales/dryness and it helped.

I don’t know about babies, but I find using a q-tip dabbed in lotion helps with my dry eyebrows. I love Brad’s Grrrr expression in the back. Pirates are too fun!

Cradle cap has a miracle cure, it’s called California Baby Calendula Cream – TRUST ME (my little guy had it for months, then one app + a few swipes with the Bean B Gone – which I also love and is made in the usa – did the trick perfectly!!!) Calendula cream is a must have in every house anyway since there are a million uses for it…literally a million. http://www.stringbeancompany.com/products/california-baby-calendula-cream

Aquaphor! Although maybe just on the eyebrows?

I’ve always wanted to go to the Tall Ships Festival. Thinking that at three my boy might actually enjoy it this year.

We’ve never been either. But the schedule of events looks like so much fun!! We are going to the parade on Friday night to watch the ships come in and the cannon battle. Then we’ll be there all day Saturday! If you go let me know 🙂

Munchkin had it BAD…like cracking at bleeding at times. Poor girl. I used olive oil on her forehead and eyebrows and it worked like a charm. It didn’t work as well on the head, that took longer to clear up. Now it’s perfectly gorgeous 🙂 I heard somewhere that picking at it can make the hair fall out, not sure if it’s true or not so I just stayed clear of that!

Good to know! I wonder if the picking at it is a wives tale… better to be safe and leave it alone. But when I’m bored nursing it is pickcity!

I’ve used baby oil on the scalp (prob. wouldn’t use it on the eyebrows), but it works great. I rub it in pretty generously on the head, their hair is an oily mess for a few hours, but it washes out. Then I use a baby comb or soft bristled brush and even my fingernail works, the dry skin is so oily it just comes right off. May sound gross to some, but it worked for me. The oil moisturizes the skin and then the excess just scrapes off. If they have a lot of hair the baby comb works best. I would usually oil them up and then when I’m nursing I’d take it off.

    Good luck!

Awesome!! He doesn’t have too much hair but I bet the comb would get in there really well! So gross but kinda fun too… I’m a picker so I’ll probably love peeling the skin off… TMI?
