I got an ego boost from Petit Vogue Children’s Fashion Blog…

I haven’t been up to date with my “I got it at…” carnival.

I’ve been a little busy…

petit vogue cy I’m still going to share what I “got” but I’m not going to include the linky list. If you want to share (and I hope you do!) please just add your link in the comments. See new guidelines here.

Eli’s Lids has gotten a bit of an ego boost from Petit Vogue’s blog.

We were featured on Petit Vogue Children’s Fashion Blog!! See the great interview they did with me. It tells the whole back story about Eli’s Lids. And Petit Vogue highlighted our best selling Snowboarder Lid (find out how you can save 25% by visiting the Petit Blog).

Follow Petit Vogue on twitter here.

Thank you Ian from Petit Vogue Children’s Fashion Blog for featuring our lil’ ole’ Lids!

If you “got” something and want to tell everybody about it? Add a link to your post in the comment section. Maybe you are a coupon maven and spent $23 on $233 worth of groceries, or you splurged at anthropologie (sigh), or won an awesome giveaway, or you got an awesome gift and want to honor that gifter… the list goes on!

Blog Crush Blogger Ball

blogger ball 1Eli’s Lids was able to represent at the 2nd Annual Blogger Ball (last year was a blast). This year, Embassy Suites in Anaheim hosted the event in one of their big ballrooms, we had twitter (#OCBloggerBall) streaming on a large screen, yummy food, the kiddos were home with a sitter and Hot Hubby and I were dressed to impress…

blogger ball 2Marcy from The Glamorous Life Association was the MC for evening.

blogger ball 3The highlight of the night (besides meeting local bloggers in person) was a raffle.

I love a good raffle.

I think they are so exciting.

REALLY! (I’m that much of a dork.)

The most coveted of prize was a $50 gift certificate to Eli’s Lids… or the iPad (donated graciously by Atwater). blogger ball 4

Adam the Dad his beautiful wife and I talking smack on Tracey from Shutter Sisters for winning the iPad (you know I’m only joking Tracey… not really… really… now you’ll never know!!)

Steve from The Bush Report won the $50 to Eli’s Lids. Whenever I put our stuff in a raffle I get anxiety that the winner won’t like the prize. I was so thankful Steve won because he has an adorable little guy at home that will look awesome in our Lids!!

bush report winner

On the way out I got a chance to talk with some of my favorite bloggers Jen from Tiny Oranges, Shanna from My Favorite Everything, Sarah from Whoorl and Hair Thursday, and meet the most famous hair stylist in blogland, Tera.

blogger ball 5

By the end of the night I had to high tail it out of there because I was about to explode.

As in, nurse Cy.

As in, my cup size had doubled in the course if the evening (see picture above).

As in, is this too much info about my boobs???

Some other bloggers’ takes on the evening…

Tera Rae Stevens (she is first on the list because in her post she says I’m hysterical)

Ditch For Kids from Festival of Children Foundation

ditch day 1Did you know September is National Child Awareness Month??

To celebrate, Festival of Children Foundation is encouraging people to “Ditch For Kids.” Which means you should “ditch” your duties of the day and hang out with your kiddos.

Um… OK!!!

Thursday was Eli’s birthday so Hot Hubby ditched the whole morning of work for a family dance party…

ditch day 2

(we to family dance parties often, you should too!!)

Then they had some waffle making fun.

If you have a birthday at our place you get the birthday song and candles for each meal (and snacks).

I know.

It’s beyond cool.

ditch day 3 ditch day 4 ditch day 5

You’re wondering what the highlight of the dinner birthday song and dessert was, right?

Well, when the palm tree caught on fire, of course!!

ditch day 9 ditch day 8 ditch day 7

ditch day 6Your turn!

Ditch something to spend time with your kiddos.

Like reading my blog… um… read my blog THEN ditch something for your kiddos. Or read my blog with them. It’s kid friendly.

(Check out the Festival of Children Foundation’s  Facebook app here and download your excuse letter today!)

Then I stuffed myself in a bridesmaids dress…

aly wedding 1

The reason we took a newborn on a plane was so I could be the Matron of Honor in my cousin’s wedding.

aly wedding 2

I’m in love with ties on my boys! I’m working on a tie pattern as we speak (type).

Do I smell Cy’s Ties in the near future!?!?!aly wedding 3

I gave the Matron of Honor toast, but forgot my punch line… oh well. It was supposed to go a little something like this…

Marriage advice from Kara-Noel:

#1 Don’t go to sleep angry. Because we aren’t guaranteed tomorrow!

#2 Think before you speak (especially in anger) because you can’t take back your words once they are out of your mouth.

#3 Shower together!!

Now raise your glasses to toast the bride and groom – May your marriage be modern enough to survive the times and old-fashioned enough to last forever!

aly wedding 4     Then we danced all night long! You know I love to dance!! Lucky for me, so do all my cousins!aly wedding 6 The kiddos had their own unique opinions about the dance floor…

aly wedding 7  aly wedding 8

The wedding was awesome!

I’m so thankful for the time I got with my family. It was worth stuffing my fat postpartum a&$ in a size um-teen dress.

Then we were in Colorado…

The kiddos did great on the flight. Cyrus slept like… well… a baby, snuggled up in my baby wrap from Stringbean Company. The big kiddos watched a DVD on the laptop and colored. Mom Tip: Pack new stickers (and lots of them!) so the kiddos will be occupied. DON’T pack markers. Opt for crayons instead so stray lines won’t end up on seats or fellow passengers!

CO trip 1 We booked adjoining rooms with my parents at the hotel.

Praise the LORD they always adhere to our strict rules…

CO trip 2

Within minutes of being in the room Eli found a toy car the previous tenant left in the room.  It was the hot ticket toy the whole week!

CO trip 3 All the gals from the wedding party got our nails done together. I thought it would be special for Cora Jane to get her nails done for the first time with all her “Aunties” (actually 2nd cousins, but Auntie is just so cute coming out of her little mouth!).

The pedicurist couldn’t stop raving about how awesome my cousin’s feet were. Then there was my gal, who was getting an arm workout scrubbing out all the cracks on mine. Any tips for keeping heels silky smooth?? I never had this problem till I became a mom…CO trip 4

Bedtime came along, – Cora Jane insisted on sleeping in her Lid.

Maybe I should market it as a nightcap…CO trip 5 We created a makeshift bed for Cy. He didn’t need much… I mean he was only 4 weeks old!

My latest ebay wins are Jillian Michael’s 30-day-shred and Anthropologie stuff.

My latest youtube indulgence? This video of a news report turned into an R Kelly type song...

Not that I want to reveal how dorky I am… but this song may be my new ringtone.

Not really… really… now you’ll never know!
